Main Street Recovery Act
Main Street Recovery Act
During this pandemic the Ontario Convenience Stores Association has worked with the Ontario government to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. We have advocated for a government program to fund a safety shield program, hand sanitation stands for over 6,000 family run stores, floor decals & PPE equipment for all employees. As an essential service, we are pleased to congratulate Minister Prabmeet Sakaria and Minister Vic Fideli as well as MPP Stan Cho for passing the Main Street Recovery Act for small businesses throughout Ontario.
This will allow all C stores in Ontario with 2-9 employees to have access to $1000 to ensure this needed protection, as well as allow for 24 deliveries but more importantly it will allow hard working families the resources to remain open. As we finalize the method to apply we will keep all informed and this money will allow each store to have the tools available in every community to serve customers. For additional information, please feel free to visit www.ontario.ca/smallbusiness and have also attached the program highlights for all. We are so pleased with the support our members have received and the hard work of your association to be recognized by the Ontario government.
There are other areas we are working on from red tape reduction to increased lottery commissions, Stay tuned and feel free to reach out to our office at any time.
